Movie News
Re-posting some cool stuff I've been reading in the trades...

News is finally filtering in for Iron Man 2. It was already announced that Jon Favreau was looking to cast Tim Robbins as Howard Stark. Now, both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell are being tapped for the villain roles. There are conflicting reports that Rourke will either play the Crimson Dynamo or Whiplash while Rockwell is in line to play Justin Hammer.
This would make sense if they're going to adapt "Demon in a Bottle" for the sequel. In the comics, Hammer overrides the Iron Man armor causing Tony Stark to accidentally murder an innocent man which turns funtime party drinker Tony to drunk-ass drunk Tony.
Mickey is all over the place as he's also being cast in Stallone's 'bunch a guys on a mission' war flick, The Expendables. I know everybody is getting sweaty for Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, but I think Stallone trumped him when it comes to the wacky ensemble cast. Rourke joins Stallone, Ben Kingsley, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren (!!), and Forest Whitaker.

Screenwriter John August says the Captain Marvel movie might be dead in the water due to Warner's current 'make everything dark' like Dark Knight policy.
Jonah Hex has a new director. The dudes who did Crank are out for the guy who directed Horton Hears a Who. Wow...that's just random. Josh Brolin is attached to play the lead which is cool in my book. I'm still hoping they don't do the supernatural Jonah Hex and do it more as a violent Spaghetti Western. Read the first dozen issues or so of the current Hex comic by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray.
